Their top player Abby Wambaugh broke her leg in yesterday's friendly with Brazil. She will have to wait till next year to score her 100th goal.

Whitehill and Osborne were left off of the official roster due to injuries as well.

I already placed a couple of futures wagers so I am vexed.

I will say this Rodriguez and Kai are the future of the women's program up front. Wambaugh is still in her prime though and hopefully she has a complete and speedy recovery. What this will mean is more 1-0 type victories for the US.

Terrible break for US and Abby.
She is a local girl gone star here. She does alot for the community and is a great role model. That aside--she is a HELL of a soccer player and was just rounding into that leadership role with Hamm leaving. TOUGH break and this is a HUGE offensive and grit loss for the USA squad. Has been looking for her 100th goal in 127 games--best ratio ever I believe.

I butchered her name: it should be Abby Wambach - as in wam bam , thank you ma'am. :lolBIG: I always have problems with her name.

Lauren Cheney is her Oly replacement.
